The Alma dog jacket can be sewn in two different ways: single-layered, for example, as a softshell dog jacket, or double-layered as a dog raincoat made of water-repellent fabric. The dog coat features an adjustable hook-and-loop fastener for optimal chest circumference. The collar is also adjustable with a drawstring. Rubber straps on the hind feet ensure a secure fit so the jacket stays in place. The jacket also features a zipper on the back for attaching a leash. If the size doesn’t fit despite the many adjustment options, there are instructions for adjusting the pattern. You’ll also learn how to sew a bathrobe using the pattern. Potential problem areas are also addressed, and how to solve them is explained. This way, you can create your own personalized dog jacket.

What you get:

Materials required:
- Recommended fabric for the outer layer: Softshell, raincoat fabric, terry cloth, or boiled wool
- Recommended fabric for the inner layer (for the two-layer version): Cotton woven fabric
- 2x eyelets, Ø8mm
- Some interfacing, e.g., H200, to reinforce the eyelets
- 1x cord stopper and matching cord, e.g., Ø4cm
- 2x hook-and-loop fastener tape, 9x5cm (If you don’t have such a thick hook-and-loop fastener tape, you can glue and sew two thinner hook-and-loop fastener tapes next to each other instead.)
- Double-sided adhesive tape
- 1x continuous zipper, 3.2cm wide With a 5 mm spiral and two sliders
- Optional: 2 rings and 2 sliders to match the size of your elastic band (e.g., bra accessories). You will need 2 pieces of elastic measuring 50 cm long and 1 cm wide and 2 pieces of elastic measuring 4 cm long and 1 cm wide (may need a little more for larger sizes).
- Optional for the single-layer version: bias binding or fold-over elastic.
